Last year, which was 2023, I visited Switzerland more than once. I had short stays in the span of 2 to upto 3 months for couple of days since I'm a concert pianist and taking many master classes across entire Switzerland. As someone who also used to live in Geneva for 5 years my experience is a vast one. Switzerland? What to say? If you are travelling solo or decide to live solo there is no safer place. Whereveryou go, you feel free and protected. However, that comes with a price. Yes, Switzerland is extremely expensive but as well offers many opportunities earn a decent living. As for the travel there are always variants and ways to stash some money and not spend as much as commercial society dictates via local cheap hostels or couch surfing. In Switzerland people are very polite and still can transmit that long forgotten European flare of life and culture. Food? 😁 One has to be honest and admit that national cuisine is not a very rich or tasty one, but with so many international restaurants you will surely not suffer! Of course, common supermarkets offer everything and beyond. Nature is absolutely astonishing and traveling through Switzerland to see it, is worth every penny and every second! So, if you are respectful towards others, have good manners, are hard-working and on top of everything a polyglot (preferably German, French; but English is spoken everywhere 😉) then pack your things and book your next trip to the land of cheese, lakes, mountains and watches!
Posted: May 17, 2024Experienced: October, 2023I felt really safe in all the places I visited here, even at night by myself. If you like nature and outdoors activities, there are many things to do, but if you like to party, this place might not be the best. About the food, it is okay. The traditional dishes are quite tasty, but other than that, there’s not much variety. It is a very expensive country, public transport, restaurants, accommodation, etc. I stayed mostly in airbnbs, they were nice, and the train here is the best. Quite expensive but it is very good and always on time.

Hi! I'm Aysha! I'm currently a university student so I'm travelling quite a bit. I've planned my first solo travel this June and I'm really anxious about that so I joined this app in hopes of some warm hugs and company I can get acquainted with.

Everything is extremely expensive, particularly the train tickets. Public transport is great and extremely punctual. I found the people to be nice. On Sundays, only the restaurants open; no stores or markets are open. So, you can only walk and take stroll. I liked Bern more than Zurich. I found it more beautiful and with fewer modern constructions.
Posted: April 7, 2024I was in Switzerland in May for 6 days. I had a car and drove from Zurich to Zermatt, where I spent 2 days. Then I went to Lauterbrunnen for 2 days and to Lucerne for another 2. I took a one-day trip to Bern for about half a day. There was a lot of traveling, but I had a great time and it is incredibly beautiful there.
