I felt safe in Florence because there are a lot of tourists but because of that you have to be aware that there are a lot of pick pockets, you have to take care of your personal things, if you go out at night be careful and try to stay alert
Posted: May 6, 2024We were safe. Expirience Florence by walking at evening, it is totaly different from daylight, verry romantic. Food is meat and stake, no vegan or vegetatian. Darling you are in Florence- steak is our food- that is what they say😂 We spend 2 days in Florence, it was about 100€ for stay at pansion. After we took car and go around Tuscany.
Posted: April 16, 2024Wonderful city. Felt safe walking around, evening in the evenings. Plenty to see just by walking around. Lots a pubs and cafe’s where people are friendly and conversations started. Probably my favorite city we visited during our 4 weeks in Italy. I would go back as a solo traveler and feel completely safe and welcome.

It was quite safe to travel in florence. The food was really delicious I wish I can stay more. But I will go that place amd visit again. It is not a cheap city but you can eat a lot top. Boboli garden was such a dream. Everybody should visit
Posted: March 21, 2024I felt safe most of the time in Florence! The locals are very friendly and willing to help you! Even if you can’t speak a lot of Italian, English is widely spoken! I really loved the Uffizi gallery, and I recommend getting cumulative tickets for the bargello museums and the Brunelleschi pass for climbing the dome and bell tower! My advice is to avoid the restaurants that advertise in English if you want to find the local places! The food is absolutely amazing and typically the wine is amazing (even the house wine). The city is incredibly walkable, and there is a train station that connects you to many of the main places in Italy! There’s also buses that you can buy cheap tickets for at small stalls around the city!
Posted: February 9, 2024I felt very safe walking around Florence, even at night. It was so lovely and not crowded at all. You can walk mostly everywhere you want to get to. So many lovely restaurants and bars as well. S stayed in a 4 star hotel and got a very good deal on booking.com. I arrived by train and left by train as I am travelling on a interail pass.
Posted: January 20, 2024Experienced: January, 2024Overall very safe place for travelers! Almost everyone speaks English so communication has never been an issue throughout the time I’ve spent here! there’s so many things to do and see here, from the main attractions like the Duomo to the local gelato shops, you could spend weeks just exploring the city and not run out of things to do!

I am loving Florence. It’s gorgeous and inspiring. I felt safe most of the time. I recommend staying by nice too rusty spots at night. There’s always people in the nice areas so it’s very safe. Don’t wonder to a new place off the main tourist spots as there are dark alleys. I stayed at the Santa Maria Novella which was a great location. Close to everything and really safe. Their atmosphere is elegant and super fun at night.
Posted: November 7, 2023I was alone in Florence and felt safe. I never really came back late but didn't feel like I had to rush back before dark. I spent an amazing day cooking in the hills overlooking Florence, and in the afternoon I made pizza and ice cream. It's definitely also worth booking tickets to museums etc. in advance, as the queues are long.
Posted: September 19, 2023I just spent a few days in Florence as a solo traveller. I felt very safe and had no troubles doing all the touristy stuff. I enjoyed the museums, food and shopping. I did a few organized tours and everything went great. There is also a tram that goes straight from the center of Florence to the airport, which is very convenient and cheap.
Posted: September 18, 2023Florence could be more safe, but during the day and specifically in the center I feel safe. There are areas, like the stations, that are a little less safe. But generally I feel comfortable and Florence is a safe place.

florence is very walkable and so it's easy to walk everywhere. i haven't experienced any sort of harassment or have felt unsafe here but it is off season so there aren't as many people. i would recommend just walking fast and avoiding looking too touristy

Amazing trip to Florence with my family. We have visit the Boboli Garden and Costume Gallery. The steakhouse was pretty good. We enjoyed it! There were too much people and we felt ourselves a little bit uncomfortable because of it, but nevertheless everything was brilliant
Posted: February 18, 2024I stayed at a hostel, it was a bit expensive for what it was. No breakfast, no cooking plates, no common areas except the kitchen and poor quality wifi. I recommend Piazzale Michelangelo which gives a beautiful view of the city, as well as the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral which is magnificent. Otherwise the city is very touristy and it can be a little stuffy sometimes.

Hello 👋 I'm Alicia, and I'm on my first adventure as a solo traveler. I want to build more confidence and find love and acceptance for myself during this time, but I would love to meet a local to share some time with, or make a new friend 🙂 I'm visiting Venice, Florence, and Milan from May 10-25
