Safe place for doing the solo trip and the view is beautiful in summer. I really enjoyed the sight view of the city and it’s a busy city but also kinda chill city. You can go to the mountains and the city just in less than one hour

Salzburg is a very beautiful city! I really enjoyed my trip there with two friends of mine. We've been to a museum which was really interesting. The city center is clean and there are many shopping possibilities.
Posted: September 6, 2023Experienced: January, 2020I took a day trip to Salzburg by train. I went to the old town for a while, walked around a bit, and then took a bus to the Alps for a small walk. I took a cable car up the hill and from there I reached the highest point. The climb was quite hassle-free, and the view was beautiful. I recommend trying the apple strudel from the old town.
Posted: July 26, 2023We took a tour tracing the Sounds of Music, which stopped in Hallstatt and it was beautiful there. I regret that I didn't have more time to spend the whole day there. We ate at a restaurant in Hotel Goldgasse, which is a Michelin-starred restaurant. I highly recommend it. We stayed at the Stein Hotel and it was very nice there, right by the canal. Within walking distance of all the wonderful shops and restaurants.
Posted: June 23, 2023I loved Salzburg. I went there only because I adore "The Sound of Music," so the trip was most important to me. The Mozart's house is worth visiting and I took the cable car up to Unterberg Mountain, which was amazing. I recommend a trip to Hallstatt, it's beautiful. I felt like I was in a village straight out of a Disney movie.

Salzburg is fairly safe. Depending which are and what time. I have lost my wallet and ID once and both was fully returned. I don’t think anyone ever stole from me and I can’t reaally remember if something like that happened to people I know. So its not as common as in other European countries but if you are in crowded places always look out for anything. As I’ve lived there for 24 years, of course, I have had a few uncomfortable experiences, but most of them happened while going out or at night, so if you make sure you don’t stay alone at those times, you don’t have to worry about a thing.
Posted: April 15, 2024It's a safe city as long as you don't get to know the wrong people. There are a lot of crazy people and stalkers, so take care whom you meet up with, why and when. Most men I got to know here were disgusting.
